Nudge reads your school email so you do not miss a deadline. That means it handles your email, and you should know exactly what happens to it. This page says what is actually true of the code, not what sounds reassuring.

Where your email text goes

To one of two places, and nowhere else:

Which one runs depends on your computer and whether you are signed in, and every result tells you which one it was.

There is no third destination. No analytics service, no error-reporting service, no advertising network, and no logging of email text anywhere.

What is stored, and where

On your computer, in the extension's own storage: the deadlines Nudge found, your settings, and which reminders have already fired. This never leaves your browser except as described above. Removing the extension removes it.

On Nudge's server, only if you sign in:

WhatWhy
Your email address and your Google account identifier To know which account is yours
A one-way hash of your device's access token So the server can recognise your browser. The token itself is not stored
Your plan and its monthly allowances To know what you are entitled to
A row per request: the time, the kind, the response status, and how many tokens it used To enforce the allowance and understand cost
If you subscribe: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers To keep your plan in step with your payment

That request row is counts only. It does not contain the email, the prompt, the reply, the sender, the subject, or the deadline. No table on the server has a column that could hold email text.

What Nudge never does

Your children's names

If you add your children's names, they are stored only on your computer. Nudge's server has no column that holds them and never saves them.

But they are sent along with the email text, because that is how an action gets tagged to the right child. So on the Claude path the names travel the same route the email does — through Nudge's server to Anthropic — and are kept by neither. On the on-device path they never leave your computer at all.

Separately, when the server needs to know how many children your plan covers, it is sent a number and never a name.

If you would rather no name left your computer, use a nickname or an initial. Nudge only needs the name to match what the school writes in the email.

Payments

Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never seen by Nudge. Nudge stores only the identifiers Stripe gives it to match a payment to an account.

Permissions, and why each one exists

PermissionWhat it is for
Access to mail.google.com To read the list of emails on screen and highlight the ones needing action
StorageTo keep your deadlines and settings on your computer
AlarmsTo check periodically whether a deadline is near
NotificationsTo remind you before a deadline
Side panelTo show Nudge beside your inbox

Signing in with Google asks only for your name, email address and profile — the same identity information any "Sign in with Google" button asks for. It does not grant access to your mailbox through Google's API.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It is static HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no analytics, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, and no third-party scripts of any kind. That is also why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to, and a banner would wrongly imply otherwise.

The extension stores your deadlines and settings using Chrome's own extension storage on your computer. That is not a cookie and is not readable by any website.

We do not track you across websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does.

Health information in school email

School email sometimes contains health details — a note from the school nurse, an allergy or medication form, a counselling appointment, or special educational needs paperwork. Nudge reads whatever is in the list you are looking at, so that text can pass through it.

What we do about it:

To ask us to delete health-related data, use the contact address below; we treat those requests the same as any deletion request.

Your choices and requests

Whatever state or country you are in, you can ask us to:

Email scipiobp@gmail.com. We aim to reply within a few days and will not take longer than 45 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

We do not sell personal information and never have. If you are in Nevada and want to register an opt-out of sale anyway, use the same address and we will record it.

Deleting your data

Removing the extension deletes everything held on your computer.

To delete your account and everything on our server, open Settings → Delete your account in the extension. It is immediate and it is a real deletion, not a deactivation: your account, every signed-in browser, any connected mailbox, and every usage record are removed, and any subscription is cancelled first. You can also email us and we will do it for you.

One thing survives, deliberately: the record that a payment happened, with your identity removed from it. A business has to be able to reconcile what it charged. Those rows have never contained email text, a name, or an address.

Children

Nudge is for parents, and for students aged 13 and over. Creating an account requires confirming you are 13 or older. It is not directed at younger children, and accounts are not created for them. A school Google account managed by a district may block Nudge entirely; that is the district's setting, not something Nudge can or should override.

Changes

If this changes in a way that affects what happens to your email, the change will be described here with a new date, not quietly substituted.
